Turkey Data Monitor is not just a database; keeping track of economic developments is simple, understandable and you will be up to date. It was designed this way.
About the Program
Tables and charts containing macro data
Brief comments, analysis and presentations about economic developments and data
Basic global indicators that affect Turkey, various charts that help to read Turkey from a global perspective
Turkey Data Monitor provides reliable, timely and easy access to data and is useful for anyone who wants to gain insight, comment or analyze the Turkish economy.
Turkey Data Monitor obtains thousands of series and hundreds of tables at different frequencies from their main sources and presents them to you as raw data tables, processed series, analytical comparative tables and graphs.
Thanks to the automatic updating in the background, tables or graphs are always up-to-date. Thus, Turkey Data Monitor automates the laborious and error-prone data updating, table and graph preparation process that normally takes analysts dozens of hours every month.
With Turkey Data Monitor, you can make various transformations of the thousands of series provided by the program as well as any series you create yourself, and have them automatically updated whenever new data is announced. With MS Excel integration, your Excel files are automatically updated in the background.
Turkey Data Monitor was established more than 15 years ago as Turkey's first data portal in macroeconomics. Over the years, as an employer, it became and continues to be the “school” for many analysts and economists currently working in reputable institutions. The core team is as follows:
After graduating from Boğaziçi University, Murat obtained his PhD at Boston College and worked as an economist at the International Finance Institute (IIF), Credit Suisse and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He held senior advisory positions at the Central Bank of Turkey and the Turkish Treasury. He has been the Global Source economic advisor for Turkey for over 20 years. Based on his experiences he felt the need for a Turkey specific user friendly database and co-founded Turkey Data Monitor. He is also a part-time faculty member of Koç University and has published various studies on the Turkish economy.
Following his history studies at Boğaziçi Üniversity, Daryo completed a doctorate in anthropology at Columbia University. He became interested in personal computers, which were in their infancy at the time, and in their applications to social science and history. When he returned to Turkey, he continued to develop software, especially working on educational applications, learning, evaluation and curriculum design. He co-founded Turkey Data Monitor, developing its software for over fifteen years. He also teaches part-time at Boğaziçi University on semiology, cultural practices and media.
Derya graduated from Galatasaray University, Department of Economics. She joined the Global Source Türkiye team in 2006. She has been working at Turkey Data Monitor since its establishment. Currently, as a senior economist, she is responsible for monitoring the global and local agenda, relations with users, data management and developing the content of Turkey Data Monitor.
Seray graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Foreign Trade and Economics. She has been working as a senior economist at Turkey Data Monitor for more than 12 years.
